Just wrapped a HubSpot CRM setup project and honestly it felt like a full system build from scratch.
The client runs a health tech platform and needed their HubSpot configured end to end before launch. Here's what the scope looked like:
— 15 custom contact properties built across multiple property groups — 3 embedded forms (Quiz Submission, Practitioner Inquiry, Diagnostics Waitlist) each with hidden field logic and UTM tracking — Automated welcome email sequences attached to the right forms with personalization tokens — Audience segmentation lists set up to separate patients from practitioners automatically — Full domain authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) documented and handed off to the dev team — HubSpot tracking code captured and packaged for deployment
Everything was delivered with a clean handoff document: form GUIDs, DNS records, tracking code, and a QA checklist the client could run after their dev team finished on their end.
The part that required the most problem solving was working within HubSpot Starter tier limitations some settings that exist in higher tiers simply aren't available, so you have to know the workarounds. Things like setting hidden field default values via the Forms API instead of the UI, and scaffolding automation workflows the right way for that tier.
That's the difference between someone who just follows instructions and someone who actually understands the platform.
