AI is replacing repetitive coding — not developers.
As a Full Stack Developer, I’ve started looking at AI differently.
AI can already help with: → Boilerplate code → API endpoints → Unit tests → Debugging common issues → Refactoring repetitive logic → Documentation
But software development was never just about writing code.
The real value of a developer is in:
→ Understanding the business problem → Designing the right architecture → Making technical decisions → Thinking about scalability → Handling security and edge cases → Building a better user experience → Knowing when AI-generated code is wrong
The interesting shift is this:
Before AI: Developer → spends more time writing code.
With AI: Developer → spends more time thinking, designing, validating and solving problems.
I don't think the future is:
AI vs Developers.
I think it's:
Developers + AI → Better software, faster.
The developers who learn how to work with AI may have a significant advantage over developers who simply compete against it.
As a Full Stack Developer, I'm not trying to code less just for the sake of coding less.
I'm trying to spend less time on repetitive work and more time on building things that actually matter.
What do you think?
Will AI replace developers, or will it redefine what being a developer means?
