I finally signed a new bookkeeping client.
When I started looking for bookkeeping clients, I knew I could do the work.
The harder part was finding the right businesses, starting conversations, and getting someone to trust me with their books.
I started reaching out to business owners and professionals on LinkedIn.
Some replied.
Some didn’t.
Some conversations went quiet.
And some required multiple follow-ups before they turned into an actual opportunity.
Then I finally signed a client.
It might seem like just one client, but for me, it means much more than that.
It showed me that the businesses I’m reaching out to really do need bookkeeping support.
It also reminded me that client acquisition takes patience.
You can send a great message and still get no response.
You can have a good conversation and still not get the client.
But that doesn’t mean the process isn’t working.
Sometimes you just have to keep finding the right people and keep following up.
Getting this client gave me more confidence to keep building my bookkeeping business.
Now my focus is simple:
Do great work for the clients I have.
Keep building relationships.
Keep learning.
And keep looking for the next right client.
If you’ve built a service business, what helped you go from getting your first client to consistently finding new ones?
