Recovery Comix is a conceptual illustration series built around the idea of making difficult recovery experiences visually understandable, relatable, and human.
This piece, “The Wheel of Misfortune,” uses the familiar language of a game-show wheel to represent common emotional and behavioral triggers that can complicate recovery, including shame, guilt, fear, loneliness, resentment, boredom, isolation, regret, and the temptation to disengage from support.
The central character is caught between two competing voices: one encouraging the familiar “just one sip” rationalization, and the other recognizing where that choice can lead. The composition combines comic-style storytelling, editorial illustration, hand-drawn linework, typography, character design, and branded visual identity into a single cohesive piece.
The finished presentation was designed as part of the broader Recovery Comix — Truth in Plain Sight identity, with the supporting message:
Awareness. Choice. Growth. Freedom.
The project demonstrates how illustration and graphic design can be used together to communicate serious subject matter without becoming clinical or impersonal.

Putting the animals front and center given LUSH's stance against animal testing is such a smart conceptual thread, it's not just a pretty pattern, it actually says something. A piece this dense must take forever to get the repeat tiling seamlessly, how long did this one take start to finish?
Visual identity work done for Luigi's Pizza, a traditional Italian pizzeria located in the United States. Creation of the logo and other graphic materials such as boxes, t-shirts, and stickers.
Pizzeria branding is so much fun once physical goods enter the picture, boxes and shirts and stickers mean the whole system actually gets touched and worn, not just looked at on a screen. Did the logo come first and everything else followed from it, or did you design the full set together from the start?
