Designing a strawberry mascot đ
I wanted to create a fun, playful mascot for a fictional ice cream brand starting with a simple strawberry and turning it into a character with its own personality.
From rough sketches to the final illustration, this was such a fun little branding exercise.

Can AI actually design a mascot worth using in a real product?
I used Grok Imagine 2.0 to create a a 'fictional' mascot for ThisDay, my upcoming productivity app.
The first result was honestly pretty bad, but after three iterations we got much closer. From there, I used a few precision edits and refinements to clean up the character and push it into something that could work.
Once the mascot was finished, I also animated it directly in Grok Imagine and exported the final video.
Still not replacing a full design workflow for me, but being able to go from rough idea â iterations â targeted edits â animation in one place was surprisingly useful.
Would you use an AI-generated mascot in a real product, or would you still prefer to build it manually?
Honestly, Iâd use it if the mascot fits the product. The fact that you can iterate and animate it in the same workflow is pretty impressive.
Is minimalism doing this label a favor, or losing what made it charming? đ¤
Found this while flipping through a Japanese book of vintage canned food labels and decided to give one a rework. Same ham, completely different shelf presence.
Vintage approach: hand painted illustration, full color, a lot happening at once.
Modern approach: vectorial line work, no color, one pattern and narrow type system holding the whole label together.
I need to know, if these two were sitting next to each other in a store, which one would you actually reach for?
