A cover can carry a place, a memory and a narrative across more than one panel.
For Chase the Stars, a paid fanbook commission, I translated a story of separation and hope into a continuous printed cover system. Scottish landscape research shaped the terrain; autumn crocus and heather carried the emotional structure; colour and value revisions preserved a luminous night; and the same setting became two different states across the outer and inner covers.
The result is a book object built from landscape, symbolism and light—not simply a front-cover image.
