Turning a Building Violation Search into a One-Click Payment Flow

Property owners in NYC dealing with DOB and ECB violations usually face a clunky process: dig through city portals, figure out which violations are actually open, then navigate a separate payment system. For NYBVC, I built a platform that collapses that entire flow into one place.

How it works:

Property owners search by BIN, address, or violation number and instantly see every open DOB and ECB violation tied to that building

They add violations to a cart and pay no bouncing between government sites and payment portals

Coverage spans all five boroughs, backed by a marketing site built for each

The interesting engineering problem: multi-channel payment delivery

Instead of a single "click here to pay" button, I built a flow that generates Square checkout links and delivers them over SMS and WhatsApp using Twilio. This mattered because a lot of property owners aren't sitting at a desktop finishing a checkout flow they need something they can act on from their phone, in a text thread, without re-navigating a website.

I also built a partner-spotlight product page for the compliance business behind the platform, and used Framer Motion throughout to keep the interface feeling responsive rather than static, despite the amount of data being displayed.

Why this kind of project is a good fit for me: This wasn't just "build a search tool" it required stitching together a data lookup, a payment provider, and two messaging channels into one seamless flow. That kind of multi-system integration work is where I do my best work.
