I recently saw a post that said, “Made by a human designer is the new luxury,” and it stuck with me.
For some time now, AI has changed the way we live, work, and create. And it’s clear that everything is becoming faster, more accessible, and more automated. However, when you stop focusing solely on that, you realize there’s something more important: the growing value of something made by a human.
I believe that because we’re living in a time when anyone can create something in seconds, having something carefully crafted by another human being becomes all the more valuable and thus a luxury.
AI may be able to create beautiful interfaces, but there’s something irreplaceable about human work: curiosity, imperfections, experiences, intentions, and even passion for what we do. Designers don’t necessarily have to be against AI or anything like that after all, it makes our work easier, but I believe that design created by humans will have a different kind of value, and perhaps that will become a new form of luxury.
By the way, I’m neither for nor against AI; I just found it interesting that we might be witnessing a new luxury or a new need that could be on the rise.
What’s your take on this?

I think the tendency will go precisely toward "human made" being the element that sets work apart, in the most positive way possible. Maybe the word "luxury" is not the one I would use but I understand why people would start applying that concept!
