A different kind of website design project.
Most of my work has been about building websites that look good, perform well, and actually work.
This time, I wanted to approach things from a different perspective.
I started exploring a concept for a psychology brand in Melbourne. The challenge was interesting: how do you design something around anxiety without making it feel overly clinical, serious, or like every other wellness website?
What if a little hand-drawn character, a tangled line, or a simple illustration could communicate something more effectively than an entire paragraph?
That thought led me to create three completely different design directions:
Tangled Growth — turning tangled thoughts into a visual identity inspired by growth.
Coastal Calm — bringing in the openness, textures, and colours of the Australian coastline.
Braver Days — adding a little personality and gentle humour through illustrations.
I explored logo systems, colour palettes, custom vector illustrations, responsive layouts, and built an interactive presentation where all three directions can be experienced.
And somewhere along the way, I realised something.
A website doesn't always need more animations, more sections, or more features to stand out. Sometimes it just needs a different way of telling its story.
This was a refreshing change from my usual full-stack and AI development work, and it's a direction I genuinely want to explore more.
The project is still a concept exploration, not a commissioned or finalised brand identity.
