Can a still image feel like it's moving?
I've been drawn to the motion blur aesthetic lately because it doesn't just show movement, it preserves the feeling of it.
Motion blur conveys a sense of speed, energy, and motion, making the image feel more dynamic.
It's been a while since I last used Midjourney, so with the release of their newest model v8.2, this felt like the perfect excuse to jump back in and experiment with the style.

The dancer top right is my favorite, the fabric trailing behind her sells the movement even more than the blur on her limbs does. v8.2 seems to be handling motion way more convincingly than what Midjourney used to output.

The dancer is my favorite: the blur radiates out from a still core, so the motion reads as controlled rather than accidental. That anchor is the thing v8.2 seems to handle better, keeping one point sharp while everything around it streaks, which is what actually sells movement instead of just softening the frame.

Okay, this is wild. I built a tool today in Claude that's going to save me days of work, and it took about an hour of playing around.
I'm building out SOTO, a concept wearable brand, and I needed a fast way to test how our key visual moves across every place it'll show up. So I asked Claude to build me a tiny motion design site. Pick a frame size. Drop in the visual. Play with the animation settings. Export a clean loop. That's it.
No more re exporting from After Effects for every single format. No more guessing how something feels at 1:1 versus 9:16 before it even exists. I just get to see it, right away.
Honestly, this is the part of AI that gets me excited. Not replacing the creative call. Just clearing out the annoying steps between having an idea and actually watching it move. Without Claude I would have sat on this motion design aspect for some time and maybe not even get to it with other projects knocking not the door.
Curious if anyone has exciting case studies they could share using this same approach?

i usually opt for dark options, but i love the light here! it keeps the feeling uplifting & effervescent, unpredictable like jazz music itself.
