Birthday Feature
A birthday design, but make it feel like a front-page feature.
For this one, I leaned heavily into editorial composition, visual storytelling, and controlled chaos. The background tells the story, while the portrait becomes the focal point, with the bold red treatment giving the whole piece that celebratory punch.
I wanted it to feel less like a typical birthday flyer and more like “this man has a whole newspaper dedicated to him.” 😂
Typography, texture, layering, and a little visual madness doing what they do best.

Hi, well, the initial idea was to maintain a clear visual hierarchy. I focused on balancing the elements and prioritizing the main information, while using contrast and layering to create depth and retain the newspaper-inspired aesthetic. If any of that makes sense?😂

One of my favourite places is designreviewed.com. They have an incredible archive of magazine covers from every decade since the 1910s, among so many other fantastic historical references and resources.
It's always a valuable challenge to recreate older design work using modern software, and I spent this morning designing a poster inspired by a 1980s Leo Lionni featured cover work. I don't think you can ever really emulate true paper texture digitally, but you definitely can get close!
Here's a little timelapse of my process in Photoshop, and some pics of the final poster (my reference is at the end). Let me know what you think!

Minale Design Strategy created a brand universe built around a strong idea: a culture of excellence. To bring this positioning to life, I came up with the idea of embodying this ambition by treating fruit and vegetable baskets as genuine works of art.
The aim was to go beyond their purely functional purpose and reveal the beauty and perfection of the products. Each composition is conceived as a unique piece, celebrating its shapes, colours and textures.
To reinforce this vision, I designed a hallmark as a symbol of quality. The imagery extends this approach, highlighting the beauty, precision and exceptional character of the product.
Together, these elements create a universe in which the product becomes an object of contemplation and desire, expressing craftsmanship and a true culture of excellence.
