“How many times can you wake up before you question what waking up means?”
The Morning Loop is an experimental psychological short film exploring the modern cycle of exhaustion, social identity masks, and false awakenings.
The narrative follows a character trapped in a reality-distorting time loop triggered by his own physical reactions to exhaustion. Moving between the sterile isolation of a bedroom, a mirror dissolving into crowd conformity, and the recurring alarm at 7:50 AM, the film questions whether waking up is an escape or simply the entry point into another layer of the dream.
Key Creative & Directional Elements:
The Action Trigger (Mental Shutter): The recurring gesture of wiping and covering the face serves as a cognitive portal—a physical reaction to exhaustion that ironically resets the entire loop.
Symbolic Imagery: The bathroom sink filled with mannequin heads visualizes the daily social personas worn to survive society.
Atmospheric Pacing: Transitioning from slow, heavy morning realism to rapid, sharp flashback cuts that reflect sensory overload and dissociation.
