TradesForge is a website and local-visibility service built for UK tradespeople, currently focused on Gas Safe boiler engineers, roofers, and electricians. The pitch is simple: a tradesperson sends over their details, TradesForge builds them a clean, mobile-optimised website and sets up their Google Business Profile properly, and they're live within 48 hours. No agency process, no ongoing calls, no monthly faff.
The core insight driving it is that jobs go to whoever looks the most credible online, not necessarily the most skilled tradesperson. Two equally good tradespeople can get very different call volumes depending on whether they show up looking professional on Google and have a real site versus a half-finished DIY page or none at all.
It's built as a productized service (one-time price option, structured local-search setup, review strategy included) rather than a traditional custom web design engagement, so it's fast to deliver and easy for a non-technical tradesperson to say yes to.

The football angle is just the hook. Underneath it's closer to a small product than a toy:
- Real payments, real-time — $1 buys a vote, and the global and per-country standings update live as they land
- A 14-tier progression system, Debutant up to GOAT, each level earned and never lost, with three visual card finishes (stands / pitch / history) as you climb
- Every voter gets their own generated card — name, country, camp, vote count — with a shareable page of its own
- A full visual identity built from scratch: stat-heavy and editorial rather than templated
No prizes, no payouts — it's a fan-support board, not a betting site. What I actually wanted to test was whether a dead-simple mechanic (pick a side, back it with money) could carry its own visual language and hold up on repeat visits.
If this one lands, I'd like to keep going with the same format for other sports — there's no shortage of GOAT arguments to settle.

🎓 GROWTH TIP 07/30: DON’T JUST REWARD ACTIONS. MAKE PROGRESS TOO VALUABLE TO ABANDON.
Most learning apps treat gamification as a reward layer.
Complete a lesson → get XP.
Come back tomorrow → extend a streak.
Hit a milestone → unlock a badge.
Useful mechanics. But none of them creates retention on its own.
The stronger growth loop starts when every action makes the user feel like they’ve built something worth coming back to.
In this EdTech concept, a completed lesson doesn’t disappear.
It becomes part of a visible history.
History builds a streak.
The streak moves toward a milestone.
The milestone creates a reward.
And the next locked achievement creates anticipation.
Action → accumulation → anticipation → return.
That’s the difference between adding gamification and designing a progression system.
The goal isn’t to make learning feel like a game.
It’s to make accumulated progress feel valuable enough that leaving means walking away from something the user has already invested in.
The better question isn’t:
“How do we reward this action?”
It’s:
“How does this action increase the value of coming back?”
