First one wins for me - the staggered layout makes the TAM > SAM > SOM flow instantly clear. Love the negative space and that lime accent against dark green. Pitch perfect!
light for me, mostly because people plan routes outside in daylight and the blue route reads faster on the light map. dark is great for evening walks though, maybe just switch at sunset
