Back in 2020, sick of "Zoom birthday parties", I decided to design an interactive game for all my friends to play, compete, and win prizes. Over 100 people joined, and it turned out to be the craziest birthday.
5 months later, a good friend from Germany reached out to replicate that exact concept for UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) in Austria to mark the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Refugee Convention.
We spent 2 months collaborating to create a virtual scavenger hunt. Through short video portraits, 4 refugees recounted their escapes, their hopes, and the everyday challenges they face. Each video contained a riddle participants had to solve to unlock the password for the next story.
It was an incredibly rewarding experience working alongside UNHCR. But beyond the creative challenge, it was really moving and rewarding to create empathy and raise awareness about the refugee crisis, bringing people closer to stories that often feel distant, through engagement and human connections.
I’m especially happy about this because working on this template was a creative outlet for me.
I wanted to build something useful for a business: a website that covers what a studio needs when it opens, from an easy-to-use schedule to clearly structured class information, with a solid foundation for SEO.
At the same time, I wanted it to feel beautiful. To bring a sense of movement, lightness, and the joy of taking a class into the design. To capture that friendly atmosphere that makes you want to walk into a studio and give it a try.
Huge congrats on getting featured! 🤍 MOVVA looks stunning - love the mindful movement vibe and that hero image. Super useful concept for studios. Well deserved feature!
