Well... Fiverr finally suspended my account. π
Honestly, I think we both moved on a while ago.
In the meantime, I brought some clients over to Contra, earned the referral bonuses, and now I get to focus on a platform that doesn't take 20% of every project.
Sometimes getting kicked out is just the universe helping you commit.

Kindly can I ask you a question? Now its 3weeks since I joined should I go for pro plan or its too early to activate the account from free plan? Have not yet landed a client but I think consistency its all matters if I have the required skills and how I can solve clients problem. How can you advice me ?

Their new AI-based review system is honestly terrible. π
I had a 5-year profile with a perfect 10 score, and within six months it dropped to 6. They took away my Pro status, and after that I basically stopped getting clients.
At the time, I was pretty crushed, lol. But honestly, it doesnβt bother me anymore.
Same happened to me, honestly I have had a lot of clients, but the restrictions made me crazy:
- Insane commision rate at 20%
- Impossible to take clients outside of the platform
- Difficult to negotiate refunds with clients
- If you didn't repond in 24hrs your profile rate would...

Not all of them agreed to come, some people find it a bit complicated but honestly, that didnβt stop me. I was so tired of the platform. The ones that did come, were happy to do so though

Honestlyβ¦ No. π« I would push for a platform that takes better care of the professionals, like Contra. On Fiverr you have to start from VERY LOW, and charge almost a joke to get clients, one you start moving your prices up and getting better rates, you will get more clients, but...

Yes, the deductions issue is terrible. You put in all the effort, and they take 20% from each party, which is 40% in total. I also left Fiverr and started building my reputation here. I hope everything goes well.
They also take 20% of tips, WTF??! Can you believe it!

Shedding that 20% platform tax is an instant raise for your business, and moving those clients over to a space where you actually own your value is a massive upgrade anyway. Onwards and upwards!

Contra feels luxury, Fiverr feels past its time. People have been encouraging me to use Fiverr for years and something always stopped me. Contra on the other hand has been a game changer! Sorry this happened to you but glad you've got Contra!
I know! Honestly, I've got more clients on Fiverr than on Contra, but the quality of the clients I get here, I would change x10 times for one Fiverr client (except for the ones that agreed to migrate with me haha)
Fiverr is just like that, suspending accounts without a tangible reason(s). It happened to me as well
I mean, they don't encourage taking conversations outside of the platform, and I did, several times... hahaha however I did have a super high and excellent score, which also makes me a bit frustrated

Sometimes the hard moments open up even better opportunities. The Contra ecosystem has been genuinely more helpful than other platforms for me.

Because I have been taking clients outside of Fiverr to Contra, and they do penalize sharing profiles or contact details that take conversations out of the platform.

The real answer depends on what happens after the scroll. option B sells the vision faster. option A earns trust faster. whichever one matches your actual sales process after the hero is the right pick, not whichever looks better in isolation

A month and a half ago, on June 5, I got serious about Contra. And now there are a hundred of us.
A bit of context. I've got 3+ years on Upwork behind me: $70K earned, Top Rated Plus, 100% Job Success. But over the last six months something broke. Fewer invites, shrinking budgets, client expectations through the roof, and the platform's fees just keep climbing. The strange part β I was doing exactly what I'd always done. It wasn't me. A lot of people are saying the same thing right now: Upwork isn't what it used to be.
At some point I just decided to stop knocking on a closed door and try something new. That's how I ended up here.
And yeah, I'm starting from zero again. Zero followers, zero reviews, building it all back up. A little scary, honestly.
But in these six weeks:
