Been thinking how to use AI in my animation work. I have a love hate relationship with AI , I am sure a lot of creatives deal with that but I guess its here as a tool. As it stands its useful for footage but can mess up details so I was thinking how I can combine AI with my animations work. I do a lot of watch animations and I wanted to do an animation where I combined my watch animations with AI to be able to deliver a complete storyline and world for the product. I started by designing and modelling a watch in Blender "Blackwind". For the sequence I actually started with deciding the tempo , 110 bpm, (slightly sped up to match 24 fps) then I wrote the music to fit the script I had in mind. I then wrote a basic script to that music with a look and feel idea I came up with, after that I wrestled AI for a few days to come up with usable footage via Kling. I had to do a lot of compositing in Resolve, mainly to composite the screens into the footage as well as all the hud graphics and the vehicle scanning so I learned a lot. Its interesting to try and do a complete storyline and deliver a feel for the product in 50 sec and I must say this is a very interesting method, since after creating the "world" it inspires the animation which I found interesting. I also learned that its essential to have a proper script, and images as can be seen in the video, some of it looks great and some of it could be better. Lets say this is work in progress as the watch renders are temps and I am still not entirely happy with the watch footage background. Its formatted as 16:9 so if it crops to 4:3 try and expand the player if possible, not sure how it works as a post? I am now working on another one where I take the experience from this one and put it to use.
