We built a pixel-art beauty store where you can shop by playing a video game and the best part? Every purchase in the game is a real purchase, meaning the products you buy are delivered to your door.
Meet Pixel Beauty an interactive shopping experience that turns a traditional online cosmetics store into a 2D pixel-art world.
Instead of scrolling through endless product grids, customers can explore a New York-inspired street, walk into a beauty store with their own character, discover products, and shop through an immersive game-like experience.
And it's more than just a visual experiment.
What's inside?
A controllable pixel character that can walk around and explore.
A detailed 2D New York street with neighboring stores, cafés, pedestrians, cyclists, and interactive surroundings.
An explorable beauty store with different product categories.
Real product images and product details.
Interactive shopping and cart experience.
A connection between the game and the store's actual product inventory, so purchases can translate into real-world orders and deliveries.
Rive powered character and environmental animations.
Smooth scene transitions and camera movements.
Retro 8-bit background music with volume controls.
A responsive experience designed for desktop and mobile.
How did we build it?
The experience was developed with @Lovable with @Rive integrated for interactive animations and a game-inspired visual experience.
The idea behind Pixel Beauty is simple:
Why should online shopping feel like filling out a form when it could feel like exploring a world?
We're exploring a different direction for e-commerce where gaming, interactive design, and real-world shopping come together.
I built a lamp that switches on with your scroll. 💡
NOCTE is a concept site for a modular table lamp. Scroll into the configurator and the cream page fades into night, the lamp lights up, and its warm light tints the whole page.
Change the light from 2200 K to 3000 K and the page shifts with it.
Pick the shade, body and cable, and every lamp gets its own link.
