Over the past few weeks, I have been posting about a system I built for a fictional skin-care brand - Luna Botanicals. I wanted to illustrate how I would think through and build systems and processes for a newly minted brand, still operating mainly out of social media orders but needing somewhere to keep track of metrics and data.
So I built three phases and a social media system on Airtable:
Phase 1: the starting build for a solo founder. Four core tables — Customers, Products, Orders, Order Line Items.
Phase 2: Cost & Margin Engine - This phase adds Suppliers, Raw Materials (with reorder and expiry alerts), Formulations and Recipes, Batch Records, and an Income/Expense ledger.
Phase 3: Team Coordination - This phase adds Staff, Purchase Orders, Team Tasks, a Leave Tracker, and Customer Feedback & Returns. It also adds simple automations for order confirmations and low stock alerts.
Social media: Content Calendar organized by content pillar (Educational, Product Spotlight, BTS, Testimonial, Promotional), plus a lightweight Influencer Outreach tracker.
In my experience, folks often spend a lot on various software and applications, which results in unnecessary overhead and time spent on maintenance and updates - all of which could be better utilised elsewhere.
Through these builds, I wanted to illustrate some ways founders and young teams can stay lean and focused while still having the support of a software system.
Thanks to everyone who followed along. I would be happy to hear from anyone who has feedback, suggestions, or just a comment.
I have linked my portfolio below, where you can find all the builds I have spoken about as well as my other projects.
What if coffee packaging had a personality? 🐾
I designed Moku’s whole world, from bags and cold brew cans to drip packs and cups, around a cat who’s always having a better day than you.

512Financial is an Austin-based firm that steps in as the finance, HR and hiring team growth-stage companies don’t have yet. Their world is board meetings, due diligence and funding rounds, which can feel heavy and intimidating for founders.
My goal with the website was to make it feel the opposite: clear, steady and human. Deep green tones, lots of breathing room, and a “Readiness by Stage” section that lets every founder find their next step in seconds, from Seed to Series B and beyond.
