Human by Design: La Mie Bakery Identity
Although we missed the official Contra x @envato challenge deadline, the workflow behind this project is worth sharing.
It's a complete brand identity and packaging system for La Mie, an artisan bakery.
While exploring the Envato library for inspiration, we noticed how generic concepts easily fall into template traps. Anyone can pull assets or generate a quick layout, but a distinct human perspective is required to create a cohesive, soulful brand ecosystem.
The workflow:
- custom character design: we moved away from sterile AI concepts and sketched a bespoke French poodle mascot from scratch.
- bespoke typography: we hand-lettered the primary logo text to establish an authentic, homey brand voice.
- production & curation: developed the packaging system in Figma using curated Envato mockups and design assets to enhance the final presentation.
While AI is an efficient tool for rapid brainstorming, true storytelling and emotional connection still require a designer’s touch.

OH my gosh this is so adorable!! I love stuff with this aesthetic, I love this so much!! The butters and pale blues go so beautifully together and the pup art for the logo is so kawaii style. I'd low key go to this bakery just for the branding if it were real 😍

For the Human by Design Challenge, I created Cronut Café; a conceptual bakery brand, to explore how AI can speed up ideation without replacing creative direction.
I used Envato's ImageGen to generate early logo concepts, then relied on my own judgment to refine the logo, typography, colour palette, and visual identity in Adobe Illustrator. Once the brand direction felt right, I returned to Envato to create mockups, also using VideoGen to bring the identity to life through motion.
The biggest decision was knowing what to keep, what to change, and what to throw away.
That's the part of design that will never change 🚀

The Cronut Café name and that latte art shot sell the concept before you even read the caption. Good call using ImageGen just for early concepts and pulling it into Illustrator once you had a direction, that workflow keeps the judgment where it should be.
"The Museum of Us"
I began this project challenge with a simple question:
What if stock isn't just a collection of assets? What if it's the memory of our species?
That single thought reshaped every creative decision that followed.
Instead of telling a story about AI, I chose to tell the story of the millions of human moments that made AI possible: every photograph, every illustration, every frame, every sound, preserved by creators across generations.
My "Human by Design" moment wasn't a single edit. It was choosing this perspective, then refining every frame until the film served that idea.

Brand identity and website for Kalotės Pušynas, a residential development in a pine forest near the Baltic coast of Lithuania.
Anyone can pull assets from a huge library. Making them feel like one place, that's human.
