Sometimes, being a designer means designing for yourself.
I started a business and needed flyers to communicate what we were about.
There was no client brief.
No one telling me what the visual direction should be.
I just knew what I wanted people to feel, what I needed them to understand, and how I wanted the brand to show up.
So I got to work.
I explored a direction, built a visual language around it, played with typography, composition, imagery, colour and storytelling, and eventually, this style came together.
These are some of the results.
For me, this is bigger than making good-looking graphics. It’s a reminder that my design skill doesn’t only live inside someone else’s brief.
I can identify the problem.
Shape the direction.
Build the visual system.
And take an idea from “I know how I want this to feel” to something people can actually see.
That’s the kind of designer I’m becoming: not just someone who executes, but someone who can own the creative direction.
And honestly, I want to do more of that.

I’ve been designing here in Berlin for the past 4+ years, but only really started taking Contra seriously this past year.
Before that, I always had a reliable client or retainer keeping things stable. Then I lost my job because of funding changes at the company, and suddenly had to figure out what was next.
Putting real effort into freelancing and growing on Contra has honestly been a big boost for me. I’m getting to keep doing what I love, work with great clients, and slowly build something of my own.

A curated collection of logos and marks exploring identity through form, concept, and visual precision.
MARKS & FORMS returns with its 2026 edition, continuing an ongoing exploration of logo design, visual identity, and the many ways a simple mark can communicate an idea.
This volume brings together a new selection of logos developed throughout the year, ranging from commissioned identities to independent explorations. Each mark represents a different approach to form, typography, symbolism, and reduction, while sharing a common pursuit: creating identities that are distinctive, intentional, and built to last.
Rather than following a single visual style, MARKS & FORMS celebrates the diversity of logo design. Monograms, custom lettering, abstract symbols, geometric constructions, and expressive marks coexist within the same collection, revealing how different visual languages can emerge from the same fundamental discipline.
Every logo begins with an idea. Through refinement, proportion, balance, and thoughtful reduction, that idea becomes a recognizable form. The process is not about adding more, but about discovering what is essential and giving it enough strength to stand on its own.
The 2026 edition reflects another chapter in that process — a growing archive of marks shaped by different challenges, industries, concepts, and creative directions. Together, they document an evolving approach to identity design and a continued commitment to creating work with clarity, character, and purpose.
MARKS & FORMS is an ongoing study of the relationship between form and meaning. Each edition captures a moment in that journey, preserving selected marks not simply as finished logos, but as records of experimentation, refinement, and creative growth.

Turning it into a yearly edition instead of a one-off drop is smart, it gives people a reason to come back each year. Looking across the marks in this volume, is there a theme or constraint that ties this year's batch together, or were they picked more on individual merit?
A logo can look good and still fail to position a business.
For Prime Systems Advisory, the challenge wasn’t simply creating a new visual identity. The goal was to build a brand that could communicate scale, reliability, and operational expertise, while standing apart in a crowded professional services market.
The solution was a focused brand system built around a distinctive geometric “P” symbol, strong typography, a confident visual language, and applications designed to work across both digital and physical touchpoints.
The identity was designed to make Prime feel like more than another service provider, it positions the business as a strategic infrastructure partner for scalable companies.
Good branding doesn’t just make a business look better.
It makes the business easier to understand, remember, and trust.
