Repulsion (1965) — Poster Case Study This poster explores the psychological collapse of Carol through contrast rather than realism. Instead of recreating the original promotional artwork, I emphasized isolation using heavy shadows that consume one half of the face, allowing the eyes to remain the emotional anchor. The muted monochrome palette reflects the film’s suffocating atmosphere, while the unfinished, painterly textures mirror Carol’s deteriorating perception of reality. The goal was to translate the film’s psychological tension into a single, unsettling portrait rather than illustrate a specific scene.
