Editorial Layout – “Walls That Cry for Help”
This editorial spread tells the story of historic buildings whose deteriorating structures have become a safety concern for the employees and institutions housed inside them. The buildings require restoration, but the process is challenging because they are protected as part of Guatemala’s cultural heritage.
This project is an example of my approach to editorial layout and visual storytelling. I collaborated in developing the visual concept, including the creation of the headline treatment “Walls That Cry for Help,” which helped establish the visual direction of the spread.
I also requested and adapted the main photograph, integrating it into the overall composition. My contribution focused on translating the story into a strong visual concept through typography, image treatment, composition, and information hierarchy.
The project showcases my ability to collaborate on editorial concepts and transform complex information into engaging, cohesive, and visually impactful layouts.

Visual identity work done for Luigi's Pizza, a traditional Italian pizzeria located in the United States. Creation of the logo and other graphic materials such as boxes, t-shirts, and stickers.
Pizzeria branding is so much fun once physical goods enter the picture, boxes and shirts and stickers mean the whole system actually gets touched and worn, not just looked at on a screen. Did the logo come first and everything else followed from it, or did you design the full set together from the start?
Retro-futurism has always been a fun direction for us, and this was one of the first projects where we really went all in on it.
We created Alex Devine as a fictional web developer and built the whole identity around that old-school vision of the future, CRT screens, terminal interfaces, dithering, experimental typography, and a bit of Y2K nostalgia.
From there, we turned the concept into a full digital experience: the brand identity, portfolio, resume, and Devolio, a Framer template built around the same visual language.
