Designed the layout for Discover Lagos Magazine/issue 1, covering 62 pages across feature articles, editorials, fashion, food and culture. The design focused on strong visual hierarchy and reader flow, pairing considered typography with imagery to keep the reading experience engaging from page to page. Every spread was built to balance editorial content with visual breathing room, giving the magazine a polished, professional feel throughout.

I’d go with Option A. It feels more distinctive and editorial, while still keeping the coaching brand approachable. The darker contrast also gives the design more personality and makes the visual hierarchy stronger.

Agreed on A, and the reason it works is fit: the dark editorial contrast reads premium and authoritative, which suits high-ticket or executive coaching. B would win for a wellness or life-coaching brand where warmth lowers the barrier. It really comes down to who Emily is selling to.
