3 months ago, I quit my job to freelance. And honestly? I thought getting clients would be much easier.
Since then, I have spent most of my time building my portfolio, creating sample projects, reaching out to potential clients, experimenting with Fiverr, and trying to figure out what kind of work I actually want to be known for.
I have also started narrowing my focus:
AI Product ads
Cinematic Book trailers
One thing became very clear along the way. Having a portfolio isn't enough. Most of the work I have created so far has been made specifically to show potential clients what I can do. I have created book trailers for authors. I have made Product ads. I haveve built different concepts just to have something relevant to send when I reach out.
But there's still one puzzle piece missing: Real client work. I don't have the testimonials yet. I don't have the long list of client projects yet. And I haven't had that one project that suddenly changes everything. So instead of pretending I'm already there, I'm going to document the process of getting there. I'm going deeper into client acquisition, studying how freelancing actually works, improving my outreach, and figuring out what makes someone say: "Yes, I want to work with you." Three months in, I haven't cracked it yet. But I'm getting much clearer on what I need to do next. Maybe that's the real beginning of freelancing. #freelance #aivideo #motiondesign #creative
