There's a sentence I keep hearing some version of, midweek, from experts running their own business:⁣ ⁣ "I've been working nonstop and I still don't feel like I'm getting anywhere."⁣ ⁣ It shows up in different words depending on who's saying it, but the shape is always the same. Full calendar, full inbox, but nothing actually produced results.⁣ ⁣ What’s usually underneath it is the founder who’s still the connective tissue holding the business together. Every handoff, decision, every "let me just do this one thing myself" routes back through them. That's a backend problem dressing up as a discipline costume.⁣ ⁣ Busy and stuck can look exactly the same from the inside because both fill the day completely. The difference only shows up in what's still standing a week later without you personally holding it up.⁣ ⁣ Midweek is usually when this becomes obvious because Monday's energy has worn off and Friday's relief hasn't arrived yet. It's a good moment to honestly ask yourself: how much of today's "productive" work only counted as progress because you were the one doing it?⁣ ⁣ If the answer is most of it, the solution is to trim down places where you're the only connection in the chain.
