We branded a dog pee pad. On purpose.

Mood makes hygienic training mats for dogs. It's the most forgettable product in the pet aisle, the thing you buy without looking and hide in a corner. That was the brief, and the opportunity. The more invisible the category, the more room to build something no one expects. Nobody was doing taste here, so we did.

The insight was simple. This isn't a pet product, it's a home product. A clean floor is a clean house is a clear head. Once the brand stood for the feeling of the home instead of the function of the pad, everything opened up.

That's why the name is Mood. We didn't want a name that described the product, we wanted one that carried a feeling and gave everything a north star. Mood is the register of a calm, clean home, and the look on a dog's face the second it relaxes. So the name became the brief. The imagery is moods: dogs mid-yawn, mid-stretch, mid-attitude. The colors are moods, warm earth, sky, and sun instead of beige and clinical white. The copy is a mood, dry and knowing and funny. "Namaste. The pet too." "Today's mood: nobody stepped in anything."

The system followed. A wordmark with a face baked in, those two dotted o's watching you back. A typographic identity loud enough to sit next to design objects, not cleaning supplies. Photography shot like a fashion brand.

A product you'd normally shove under the sink became one you'd leave out on the counter. Take the most boring thing in the room and make it the most confident.
