One thing I stopped doing as a freelancer:
Saying "yes" to everything.
Early on, I thought every opportunity was a good opportunity.
More projects.
More clients.
More work.
But not every project is the right fit.
Now I pay attention to:
ā Clear requirements
ā Realistic timelines
ā Good communication
ā Mutual respect
Sometimes the best business decision is saying "no."
Because every "yes" takes time away from a better opportunity.

What's your non-negotiable design question in a client brief?
The question you always ask before starting a project.
Mine: "Who are you trying to make feel seen?"
Not "who is your target audience." Not "what's your brand voice."
That one question shifts a brief from a visual spec to a strategy.
