I started a Master’s in Advanced Graphic Design last November.
Not because I needed a title, but because I felt ready to go deeper.
Up until now, I’ve been self-taught. With a background in architecture, I’ve built my design practice through experience, curiosity, and a lot of hands-on work. But I reached a point where I wanted to structure what I know, refine my thinking, and explore new areas like web design and motion graphics.
As an introduction, our first assignment was to create a series of posters that tell our story.
A simple brief, but a challenging one.
Today I’m sharing two of them.
The first explores where I live. I chose the Tour de Sauvabelin in Lausanne, a place I return to often during my runs. As an architect, I’m drawn to its structure and logic. As a person, I value the perspective it offers. It’s a place where everything feels momentarily aligned.
The second reflects my mission as a designer.
Through this exercise, I realised how much my approach is shaped by the way I think and learn. I’m detail-oriented and highly visual. I understand complexity by seeing it, mapping it, and breaking it down.
This led me to a simple realisation:
I use design to make complex things clear.
This assignment also gave me the opportunity to explore contrast in typography, combining expressive, decorative elements with more minimal and structured ones. A balance that reflects both sides of my approach.
Looking forward to continuing this journey and pushing these ideas further.
