Pagespeed scores don’t mean everything…
…but hitting a high score still feels very good 😅
Here’s why I actually cared about performance on this project: I’m building a site for hikers on the edge of a forest.
Which means: spotty connection and slow loading
Having a site run fast isn’t optional here, it is the difference between people seeing your brand or literately walking past it. This is my first real project so I wanted it to feel right.
I went a bit deeper and did some very advanced demographic research:
I looked out the window 👀
Most people hiking here are a bit older.
What that meant in practice:
– bigger, clearer text – simple layouts without much movement – fewer heavy elements
I removed a lot of “cool” things and honestly… it made the site better. Desktop still gets the fun stuff. I didn’t do anything crazy.
No custom code. No over-engineering.
Just a few targeted decisions based on the audience.

This is seriously impressive work. The attention to detail and level of execution stand out immediately. You’ve set a high standard here, well done.

Hey Maxime, this is beautiful, congrats! It's crazy that you were able to hit those numbers with a custom site like that!

Thanks. knowing how performance works in Framer does help a lot.
