Hard to choose! I think combining both flows can be good. Where it starts out as the watch and then separates into the grid with the watch left in the middle.

Voted widget grid — the single hero feels cleaner but the grid immediately tells me what the product does without reading a word. For a data-focused app that's a stronger first impression every time.
