A cone on slate. One thread of smoke, rising and returning.
I wanted to capture a moment of arresting in time: a sense of peace, a sense of calm, an ambience you could almost breathe.
The first versions came back too billowy, more forest fire than incense. They were missing the realness of a real cone burning, so I sent them back until the smoke settled into a single thread.
The render got the room right. What it couldn’t hold was the handcrafted uniqueness of my real cones. It made the cone from its own imagination, before the real ones existed. So I read this as fabulation.
The checks come first. The last look is mine. I hold the handoff and decide whether it’s excellent enough to ship.
