Last Train to Kisaragi is an interactive horror journey inspired by the Japanese urban legend of Kisaragi Station ๐Ÿšƒ๐ŸŽƒ
In the original story, a passenger takes their usual train and reaches a deserted station that nobody can locate. My version moves the setting to the New York subway: you board a late-night train bound for Union Square, but after a blackout, the destination display reads KISARAGI. When the train arrives, you can get off, explore the station and read the clues.
I spent time refining the carriage's lighting, reflections and signs to bring it closer to a real subway. The arrival unfolds through the window in real time, and the camera turns as you walk between points in the station.
Built with Rive CLI and GPU Canvas. A coding agent helped build the scene in RML, custom WGSL shaders render the 3D environment, and Luau scripts control the journey and exploration. The project also uses data binding, state machine listeners and synchronized audio, with Blender-authored train and station assets.
Desktop and headphones recommended. Let me know what you think of it!
