We just wrapped a product launch video for Molecule, an energy trading and risk management platform built for power and renewables.
Molecule had just shipped the first native MCP server from an energy trading platform. It lets traders connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot directly to their trading data and ask questions in plain language.
The product was genuinely new.
The challenge was explaining it to a skeptical audience without turning the video into another generic B2B tech ad.
Energy traders know their market. If the voice mispronounces P&L or ETRM, credibility disappears immediately. If the visuals feel too safe, they undersell a platform positioned as the modern alternative in a legacy category.
And because the video needed to work across LinkedIn, the website, email, and a sound-off exhibition screen, the story had to hold up in more than one format.
So we focused on a few things:
- Storyboard first. We mapped the full problem-to-solution narrative before animation started, giving the client a clear view of every screen, transition, and message upfront.
- A visual system pulled directly from the brand. A red dot becomes the Molecule icon, opens into the product interface, and travels through the film as a connecting motif.
- Rebuilding the product UI by hand. There were no Figma files because the interface had been designed directly in code, so we recreated it as editable motion graphics instead of relying on flat screen recordings.
- Getting the details right. We refined the voice, pace, and industry terminology, then reworked late testimonial footage into audio, pull quotes, and color-graded visuals that fit the rest of the film.
The result is a roughly 2-minute product story that makes a technical feature feel clear without flattening what makes it important.
Modern infrastructure, explained in a way that still feels like Molecule.
If you're launching a technical product and the story is harder to explain than the product is to use, let's talk!
GATE108 is a forward-thinking ecosystem bringing together people, ideas, experiences and new ways of living, working and connecting.
We’ve been their long-term design partner, shaping and continuously evolving a flexible visual ecosystem across visual strategy, brand identity, creative direction, digital experiences, event assets, 3D motion and social media.
Inspired by the idea of GATE108 as a gateway into a multidimensional world of people, ideas and possibilities, we’ve built a brand system designed to move, adapt and grow across physical and digital spaces.
As the brand evolves, we continue to create new expressions while keeping the wider ecosystem cohesive, recognisable and ready for what’s next.
I’m currently starting work on an RWA (Real-World Asset) NFT project focused on real estate, in collaboration with a European-based company.
The project will explore how real-world property assets can be represented and managed through blockchain technology. I’m looking forward to working on the Web3, NFT, and real-estate aspects of the project and sharing more as development progresses.
