If AI tools can get your designs and ideas 70% of the way there, where does your value sit in the remaining 30%? 🤔

I gave two AI tools the exact same prompt and the results were closer than I expected.

I tested Google Stitch using my Anything Hackathon prompt, even added a reference image, while it did not use it directly, the style and color direction were surprisingly aligned.

First impression, it is fast! 🚀

The output looks solid at a glance, but once you start being nitpicky, you notice that hierarchy needs refinement and some spacing decisions feel slightly off.

I think it is a strong starting point but not a final solution.

Any thoughts?

Absolutely this is where real design thinking comes in. AI can take you 70% of the way, but the last 30% is all about hierarchy, context, user behavior, and subtle visual decisions that actually make the interface feel intuitive. Tools give speed, but humans give clarity, trust, and polish.

Yeah, we're not right there yet. It's great to generate ideas, but I don't think it's still possible to ship something that I am fully proud of using only those tools.

I've been building websites for years. Agencies, freelance, now my own studio. We went from fully manual work to actually useful AI tools, and let's be real: it speeds things up and makes you more efficient. That's the value, nothing more. What no AI can give you, even as designers and devs get told they're cooked every other week 😆, is taste. Years of real practice, hard decisions on real projects, the eye that tells you something is off before you can explain why. That's not something you prompt your way into. Use AI, get more efficient with it. Just don't expect a couple of prompts to give you a top-grade website. That still takes a human who actually knows what they're doing.

I've been testing Google's Stitch Design — here are my first impressions as a Product Designer.

It's ideal for structuring projects quickly, building UI kits that can evolve into design systems, and using as a reference tool. The copy-paste flow from Stitch directly into Figma is surprisingly smooth.

Still in beta and it's already making me reconsider parts of my Figma Make workflow.

Early verdict: strong 10/10 potential.
