What happens when you stop trying to make something new and start reimagining something old?
Lately I’ve been feeling a little uninspired, so I’ve been reconnecting with nature instead of chasing novelty.
I’m experimenting with turning nature paintings from The Met Open Access collection into ASCII mixed-media pieces.
Even as paintings, nature removes the pressure to be ā€œoriginalā€ and replaces it with curiosity.
Where do you turn when you need to reconnect with your creative process? Inspired by Enigmatriz

Such a thoughtful approach. Honestly, stepping outside usually resets my creativity too

Reimagining over creating is such an underrated approach. Those ASCII collage pieces have such a moody and layered feel to them. Really love this direction!

The constraint of ASCII forces attention back to composition, which most digital tools actively remove.

Yes, I think that’s why they really work when you juxtapose them with something like a lifestyle painting!

Taking an old idea, project, or even a code snippet and trying to transform it into something visually or functionally different.
Revisiting nature, photography, or music—just observing the details, textures, patterns, or rhythms, and then remixing them in my own medium.

Yes! Remixing something familiar can open up so many unexpected directions
