The win here is placement. A gooey moment on the hero adds character, the same effect on a data table or form would just tax the task. Putting it where the eye is already resting is what makes it read as personality instead of noise.

Computing this in the browser makes the component much easier to drop into a client site—no API setup to hand over. Does the moon orientation also adapt for visitors in the southern hemisphere? That would be a lovely detail alongside the five languages.
