Bringing one of the most iconic early 2000s music player designs back to life.
This custom music player combines nostalgic Windows Media Player aesthetics, Y2K interface design, and skeuomorphic UI with modern interactions and animation.
Originally recreated entirely in Figma, the design has evolved into a fully functional interactive component featuring animated speakers that react to music, playback controls, track switching, adjustable volume, and minimize/expand functionality.
Every gradient, button, speaker, and visual detail was carefully recreated to preserve the personality of the original interface.
An exploration of retro interface design, UI animation, microinteractions, and the intersection of nostalgia and modern frontend development.
While working on the homepage for Halfspace, a website design and SEO agency, I explored two different hero visuals for the same headline and layout. Same message, same structure, just a different visual metaphor and mood.
Option 1 - Rocket Launch. Bold, literal, and energetic, visually reinforcing the "launch your business" message with motion and fire.
Option 2 - Glass Cube. Abstract, sleek, and premium, giving a more refined, tech-forward feel without relying on a literal metaphor.
Would love your honest UX/UI take, which direction feels more impactful, memorable, and aligned with a web design/SEO brand, and why?
