Has anyone else had serious difficulty getting payout/onboarding issues resolved through Contra support?
I’ve now been dealing with a business payout/onboarding issue since May 13th involving Contra + Airwallex.
I followed all instructions provided by support, including fully re-onboarding as a business entity under my incorporated company, completed verification, entered everything correctly, and still ended up with: “An unexpected error occurred.”
The bigger issue now is that I cannot deposit the funds currently sitting in escrow into my business account.
Meanwhile, I’ve already completed the next milestone for the client and am effectively stuck until this gets resolved.
What’s been most frustrating is not even the technical issue itself. Problems happen.
It’s the support process: • long delays between replies, • unclear or conflicting guidance, • no visible escalation path, • and now 48+ hours with no response at all after being told “the team is working on it.”
At this point I genuinely don’t know whether anyone is actively handling the issue or whether I’m just stuck in an internal loop between support and Airwallex.
I’m posting this mainly to understand: Is this unusual, or have others experienced similar support/payment onboarding problems?
Would appreciate hearing how others resolved it, if they did.
