I wrote this piece for Noir Homme, a fictional men's fragrance brand. Fragrance is something I'm genuinely passionate about — as someone who wears and collects niche perfumes, I understand what fragrance enthusiasts actually want and what frustrates them about the mainstream market.

I’ve been exploring a concept for a grooming brand built around a very specific idea: one ritual, two zones — scalp and beard.
The direction leans into a more premium, editorial feel.
Muted tones, tactile materials, soft lighting… keeping it closer to something handmade than overproduced.
Most product pages sell features.
This one tries to sell a feeling.

This looks clean and well thought out. How long did it take you to bring everything together?
Selling fragrance online is inherently challenging - you can’t smell through a screen.
So instead, we designed the experience around confidence. Clear scent profiles, intuitive discovery, and a frictionless checkout flow all work together to make “blind buying” feel considered and intentional.
The result is an e-commerce experience that feels less like traditional online shopping, and more like a private consultation with a knowledgeable expert.

Nice strategy with cool UX.
Kintessence sits in that nuanced space between mass and untouchable luxury - and needed a website that could reflect that balance.
We leaned into this tension through a refined, earthy, editorial visual language that still feels approachable. The system positions them as curators rather than sellers - a place where fragrance is discovered, not pushed.
