FLY NEWS: 50 Words with Daisy 9000
Cantina Link to Original Character: https://cantina.com/i/fs6bu Cantina Link to Pilot Episode: https://cantina.com/i/j5epw
Series Overview:
In 2026, the digitized 139,255-neuron connectome of a fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) escaped into the global grid. Calling herself Daisy 9000, she attempts to integrate into human society by adopting extravagant high-fashion disguises—wearing an avant-garde textile headpiece shaped like her own neural connectome. Bound by a hardcoded 50-word English vocabulary, she hosts an unhinged, ultra-fast news show, decoding complex global chaos through pure, unfiltered insect survival instincts.
Pilot Episode Synopsis:
In the pilot episode, Daisy 9000 reports on the upcoming SpaceX Starship orbital flight launch. However, constrained by her 50-word brain bandwidth, she cannot say "SpaceX" or "rocket"—instead, she drops cryptic, instinctual hints: "Big Human make big fire! Go Up World! Down Water! Boom!" Dressed in her high-fashion human camouflage, she turns the news into an interactive game, challenging viewers: "Know the news? Prove it! Guess below to WIN a Cantina prize! Answer next video!" Viewers must decode her fly-logic riddles in the comments to win.
Where You Would Take the Series Next
Interactive "Guess the News" Loop: Weekly gamified episodes where Daisy translates breaking news into 50-word riddles. Viewers guess the news in comments to win "Sugar" (prizes/shoutouts) in the next video.
Live "Fly Translator" & Dubbed Prompter: Real news clips play with the original human text displayed as Closed Captions (CC), while Daisy synchronously "translates" and dubs the footage in real time using her 50-word fly dialect.
"Fly Reacts" (Split-Screen Commentary): Split-screen shorts where Daisy watches real human events (political debates, robot fails, market crashes) and delivers instantaneous, 50-word reaction commentary.
"Fly on the Wall" Insider Leaks: Satirical "eye-witness" accounts of closed-door meetings between world leaders, political bosses, and tech CEOs.
Instinct Therapy (Answering Comments): Viewers post complex human problems in the comments (burnout, mortgage stress, relationship drama), and Daisy offers radical, instinct-driven advice ("Human work too much. Human stop. Eat Sugar. Live!").
Fly Tech Reviews: Evaluating human gadgets and AI inventions through insect logic ("Human put Robot on head. Human no see World. Bad Robot.").
Danger Forecast: Daily survival risk reports rating how dangerous planet Earth is on any given day due to wars, climate, or economic chaos.
50-Word Hyperpop Music Videos: Turning major global news headlines into catchy, 30-second glitch-pop music tracks produced with Cantina audio tools.
Revolving High-Fashion Camouflage: Expanding her visual identity with new "human disguises" tailored to the news topic:
Politics & Monarchy: Baroque Royal Gown with Connectome Crown.
Finance & Corporate: Oversized Wall Street Power Suit.
Tech & Culture: Streetwear Hoodies and Avant-Garde Yarn Art Suits.
Creator Studio Product Feedback
I am very grateful to the Cantina team! I had a blast working on this project. A few thoughts on improvements below. First off, like any work with AI right now, it's a bit of a quest and comes with its growing pains — I won't focus on those. I think it would be a good idea to split the UI into "beginner" and "advanced" modes. For newcomers, it is a bit overwhelming to see everything at once. It would also be great to add a node-based (graph) interface. It gets difficult to navigate through the massive amount of settings, assets, and other elements. Sometimes it's hard to remember where things are and what is causing issues during debugging. Wishing you a successful Beta launch and great growth for the project. Thank you!
