Designed. Printed live. In-store. Arc'teryx La Madeleine Anniversary.
Research and graphic design for Arc'teryx La Madeleine store in Paris. Taking inspiration in natural phenomenon and outdoor experiences to translate Arc'teryx's core values.
I took care of the design of the special edition logo & the live printing of the tee shirt in-store.

Printing a spiral made of letters live on a tee is a fun way to make an anniversary feel participatory. How did you handle legibility where the text tightens toward the centre, did you set a minimum letter size for the print?

Thanks Artur! Yes, I capped it: letters never go below 15 mm, so the spiral stops before the centre instead of shrinking into an unreadable dot. I tested a few sizes on actual fabric, because ink spreads more on cotton than on paper. The centre ends up holding a small motif instead of text.

Testing on real cotton is the part most people skip, ink gain changes thin strokes a lot. Putting a small motif in the centre sounds like a neat way to turn a constraint into a focal point.
