The routing rules were the easy part. The problem was documents matching two rules at once - an invoice that's also a contract amendment. My first version sent those to both the accountant and the lawyer. Both assumed the other one had it.
Fix: a strict priority order, plus a fallback queue for anything ambiguous. Nothing gets lost, nothing gets done twice.
Automation rarely breaks on the main path. It breaks on the 5% you didn't map.
