From Ritual to Interface: Reimagining the Ancient Greek Krater
Overview:
This project is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Ancient Greek Geometric Funerary Krater from The Met Museum. The original artifact used structural repetition and geometric rhythms to organize communal mourning and memory. In this digital artwork, I have translated that ancient visual language into a modern information design system—turning a historical ritual into a clean, digital interface for collective memory.
What is in the Media:
Image 1 (Comparison Wall): Shows the side-by-side evolution from the past to the present. On the left is the historical Greek Krater, and on the right is my modern digital panel, under the concept "From Ritual to Interface."
Image 2 (Final Artwork): The complete high-resolution digital artwork featuring the redesigned geometric registers, stylized figures, and a warm cream field that acts as a contemporary memorial layout.
Video (The Concept): A short visual breakdown explaining the creative transition from form to system—how ancient geometric registers became a timeline, and how traditional mourners became digital memory markers.

I started with one flat e-commerce packshot, the same asset any brand already has, and built the rest: fabric detail, styling, and the product worn, on two models, across front, profile and back. One coherent world, one locked direction.
It works two ways: as pre-production, to explore several directions before a shoot and decide with something real in front of you, and as final, campaign-ready visuals for social and e-commerce, refined down to the detail.
And it scales in every direction: more products and full looks, several models in a single frame, different sets and moods from the same starting assets, and motion.

What if damage wasn’t a flaw, but proof that something survived?
For the FLORA × The Met challenge, I started with an 18th-century shot-proof breastplate from The Met’s archive — a piece deliberately fired at to prove its strength.
I reimagined that same logic as PROOF, a protective vest for skateboarders.
Instead of hiding wear, the vest is designed to record it. As the outer black fabric tears through impact, different coloured layers are exposed depending on the depth of the damage.
Every fall leaves evidence.
Every scar becomes part of the object.
And even if thousands were manufactured, continued use would eventually make every vest one of one.
The original armor was damaged once to prove it could survive.
PROOF proves itself every time it survives.
I built and explored the full concept in FLORA, from the original museum piece and material studies to the final system, imagery and presentation.
I also recorded a full process walkthrough covering why I chose the piece, the concept behind the damage system, my iterations, models, and the FLORA canvas.

This is such a strong example of turning damage into a design language rather than something to hide. I especially love the idea that every impact permanently changes the vest, meaning the object slowly becomes a record of its own survival. The connection between the historical...
