What if an email could trigger an entire business process automatically?

I recently built an AI-powered Change Request & Approval Automation System using n8n, Supabase, Gmail and AI.

A request comes in through email.

The system can then: → understand the request with AI → identify the related project/customer → verify the sender → compare the request with existing scope/data → detect conflicts or missing information → calculate/use available pricing → request external pricing when needed → create structured records → route approvals → send notifications → maintain a complete audit trail → prevent duplicate processing

The interesting part is that this isn't just a chatbot.

It combines AI + deterministic workflows + database logic + human approval to automate a process from start to finish.

I initially built it around construction change orders, but the same architecture can be adapted for many businesses dealing with:

customer requests, quotations, approvals, service changes, orders, internal operations, and email-based workflows.
