THEY HAVE A MOBILE APP ACTIVATION PROBLEM.
Users don’t drop because they hate journaling.
They drop because the first session feels too empty, too generic, or too emotionally heavy to start.
For this Gamified Diary App Mobile App Design, we designed the product around a softer first-session experience - not just a blank page.
The goal was to make the diary app feel more personal, safe, and easier to return to.
Early usability testing showed:
+42% completed onboarding flows
+35% first diary entry completion
+31% more users choosing to set a PIN code
Now I’m testing two color themes for the same Mobile App UI/UX Design:

Exactly. The theme has to match the emotional job of the user, not just the brand mood board. For a diary app, first-session safety matters more than visual cuteness.
