A designer can make a slide beautiful in 10 minutes.
Making it matter is the harder part.
I’ve learned that some of the most important design decisions happen before I even open Figma or PowerPoint.
It starts with questions:
What does the audience need to understand?
What should they remember?
What deserves the most attention?
And what can simply be removed?
Because great presentation design isn't about filling every inch of a slide.
It’s about knowing what deserves the space.
That mindset has changed the way I approach pitch decks, presentations, and brand work.
I’m not chasing “pretty.”
I’m chasing clarity, meaning, and impact.
And when those three come together, good design becomes something much more powerful.

When does a hand-drawn logo make sense for a brand?
In this case, a Barcelona-based creative studio founded by a team with decades of combined experience approached me wanting a hand-drawn identity that would feel unexpected for a team like them, a way to signal creativity and distinction.
They came with a strong concept: the sediment at the bottom of a wine glass. What stays after everything else fades. A nod to what good work leaves behind after years of experience.
The entire identity is built on hand-drawn illustration, so the logo needed to do something different. With so much personality already living in the visuals, we went for a logotype with weight and presence, something that could anchor the brand and communicate their expertise.
The hand is still there. Just in a different form.

Most gaming studios by default go with loud neons, aggressive shapes, and cluttered graphics. For Thorn, I went the opposite way, pure visual restraint.
Built a clean, modern wordmark paired with a dark palette, a sharp burnt orange accent, and locked-in brand guidelines so the identity stays consistent everywhere.

Going quiet and restrained for a gaming brand is a genuinely bold call when the whole category defaults to loud neon. Did you have to talk the client into that restraint, or were they already tired of the usual aggressive gaming look?
