”Can you make it not look like AI?”
That's what a recent client request sounded, when the client asked for custom graphics designed for their marketing site. They had created the overall structure and layout with one of the AI tools, but it looked too generic, and like another AI slop.
Maybe that's where designers fit in now. AI gets you 80% of the way there. We make the final 20% feel human.
That request to make it not look like AI captures a real design problem. What was the clearest visual signal you removed or rebuilt to make the site feel authored?

even if you take on a big freelance project and it doesn't land the way you hoped, you still walked away with a real deliverable, a new client relationship, and a clearer process. that's the part most people miss.
The clearer process part hits home, that's usually the thing you only notice you gained after the dust settles. What's one process change you made after a project like that, that you still use on every client now?
Brazilian Sweet 100% AI Brand and Visual Design
Today, it's almost impossible to think about design without thinking about AI. Recently, I joined a @CapCut Design Studio challenge in other platform where the goal was to create an entire brand and campaign using only the platform.
I was skeptical at first and expected limited results, but I committed to the process and intentionally stepped away from my usual workflow.
