Hi! I'm Shim, a Motion designer & Artist, with 15+ years of working with movement.
I previously worked as a freelancer, creating motion projects for private & business clients across different sectors; business, hi-tech, advertising, & media.
In recent years, my focus was more in my personal art practice.
I explore contrasts: stillness- motion, organic- digital, control-randomness, often through motion, generative systems, and on-chain technologies.
Lately, I’m finding my way back into paid motion design projects, and I’m excited to combine everything I’ve learned along the way: technical skills, artistic research, and storytelling, and collaborate with people and companies to create new stories.
After Effects is still at the core of my workflow, but i really love experimenting and mixing mediums.

Interactive motion pieces triggered by user input
This project explores the tension between stillness and motion through simple user interaction.
Each piece starts as a static image and is activated by a click or tap, revealing a short motion loop.
I focused on creating a minimal interaction that feels intentional rather than gimmicky.
Tools: After Effects, video compositing, interaction logic, motion loops.

Motion branding project for a tech startup (2020):
The goal was to create a clean, modern visual language that communicates clarity, technology, and trust.
I worked on logo motion and brand visuals, focusing on rhythm, balance, and a professional tone for use across videos, newsletters, and promotional content.

Logo intro I made a few years ago for an Architecture company.
The initial idea for this started with the little jumping buildings

A logo intro I created for KineType - a data processing company.
The motion was designed to reflect flow, structured thinking, computational power, and high-tech language.
