Cover image for I've been building my video
I've been building my video editing portfolio piece by piece, and I'm finally at the point where I'd love some honest feedback. Also... yes, I built the entire portfolio website from scratch myself. 😄 I've worked with several clients over the past few months, and I recently added a typography animation project that I'm really proud of. But the more I look at my portfolio, the more I start questioning things: Is the layout clear? Is the order of projects right? Does anything feel confusing or unnecessary? Does it actually make me look like someone you'd hire? So I'd love to get fresh eyes on it. If you were: • a potential client looking to hire a video editor, or • another creative reviewing portfolios, what would immediately turn you off? What would you change, remove, or improve? Please don't hold back—I genuinely want constructive criticism. Every comment will help me make it better. Drop your thoughts after taking a look: https://bybeulah.netlify.app/

I've been thinking... Why do so many people act like you need DaVinci Resolve to create premium edits?🤧 One of my recent client projects—an animated typography edit—was done entirely in CapCut. When I delivered it, my client literally said, "Wow." He told me he wasn't expecting an edit of that quality. He expected something much simpler, but the final result completely exceeded his expectations.👌 That got me thinking... Maybe clients don't actually care what software you use. They care about the final result. 🤷‍♀️ Don't get me wrong—DaVinci Resolve is an amazing editing software with features that CapCut doesn't have. But this isn't the first time I've delivered a high-quality edit using CapCut, and it definitely won't be the last. At the end of the day, software doesn't make an editor. Skill, creativity, and storytelling do. Now I'm curious... If I hadn't told you this was edited in CapCut, would you have guessed? comparing with the raw video VS edited. Be honest.

High-Retention Talking Head Edit for Irisimi For this project, I transformed a standard talking head video into engaging, scroll-stopping content for a fashion brand. Instead of relying on captions alone, I used motion graphics, animated text, and visual illustrations that appeared as the speaker talked. Every editing choice was made to reinforce the message, maintain viewer attention, and create a more immersive viewing experience. If you’re a brand or creator with raw footage, I can turn it into polished content that keeps your audience watching and communicates your message clearly. Services included: ✅ Talking head editing ✅ Motion graphics ✅ Visual storytelling ✅ Text animations ✅ High-retention social media edits ✅ short/long YouTube editing Let’s create content your audience won’t scroll past.
